FAQ
Give it four weeks of consistent use before forming a view. Most people notice little in the first week beyond mild warmth and the novelty of the device — that's expected. Weeks two to four are where people typically report the routine starting to feel worthwhile. Anything you notice in the first few days is more likely to be attention than effect.
and near-infrared are the wavelengths studied in photobiomodulation research. Blue is a separate function — it's the wavelength used to activate whitening gels.
Yes. Check with a dentist or doctor first if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, take medication that increases light sensitivity, have oral cancer or a history of it, have an active infection or recent oral surgery, or have epilepsy. Not for children unless a dentist advises otherwise.
Most of our Duo orders are couples, or someone buying one for a parent. It's not a consumable — a second device is for a second person, not a spare.
Five minutes to start, building to 10–16 minutes by week four. The smart timer shuts the device off automatically, so there's nothing to watch.
One session a day is the routine the guide is built around, and there's no evidence doubling up produces better results. If you want to increase something, increase your consistency across the week rather than sessions per day.
Almost certainly not. The 850 nm near-infrared LEDs are invisible to the human eye, so a portion of the output produces no visible glow. If you can see red, it's running.
Feeling nothing is normal and isn't an indicator either way. Red and near-infrared produce no strong sensation beyond mild warmth. Judge it at four weeks against your notes, not session by session.
Nothing is lost, and don't double up to compensate. Just resume as normal. A routine with occasional gaps still works; a routine you've quit doesn't.
Rinse the mouthpiece under running water after every session, wipe it, and leave it to air rather than sealing it damp in a case. Once a week, wipe with mild soapy water, rinse and dry. Avoid alcohol, bleach, abrasives and anything scented.
Rinse, don't soak. Never submerge it, never rinse it while charging, and never boil it, microwave it, or put it in a dishwasher or steriliser.
A full charge takes about three hours and gives 9–10 sessions — roughly a fortnight at five a week. Charge on a fixed day rather than waiting for it to die mid-session, and make sure the port is dry before connecting.
